Open shoulder, closed shoulder
— the two positions that decide whether your floorwork is safe or hurts
A free lesson from my Floorwork course: learn how to place your arms correctly, understand open vs. closed shoulder, and use both to land your first trick.
15 minutes. No equipment, no experience needed — just space to move.
What's inside this lesson
In this lesson, you'll learn
Open shoulder vs. closed shoulder — the concept that shows up in almost every floorwork trick, and why most beginners get it backwards
How to place your arms and hands correctly — the exact hand and arm positioning that protects your wrists and shoulders under load
Your first trick, built on both — you'll put open and closed shoulder into practice immediately, so it's not just theory
This isn't a random trick tutorial. It's one lesson, three concepts — and once you understand them, every trick after this one gets easier.

Probably not for you if…

You're looking for live feedback on your own technique

You already have a strong, pain-free hand placement and want advanced tricks only

About the author
Randa Romanova
Hi, I'm Randa
I never had a gymnastics background. I started dancing at twenty, and I know exactly what it feels like to not have enough strength or flexibility in your body, to feel like the weakest person in class, and to be afraid of starting something new.
That's exactly why I understand your fears and how to work through them. My method isn't just about learning movements. We work with our fears, our nervous system, and we learn to accept our body exactly as it is right now.
In just two years since I started sharing my method online, almost 100,000 people have found their way to my page. I teach floorwork and dance acrobatics to adult beginners, both in person in Helsinki and online with students around the world, and I'm one of the founders of the only international dance acrobatics camp in the world.
If you're just starting out, you're not behind. You're exactly who I built this lesson for.

"For this price, you're offering such a great program. You're incomparable to other trainers. I'm a teacher myself, and I have very high standards. You share so much more than dancing."

FAQ
Questions, answered.
What level do I need to start?
None for Level 1 or Shoulder Stands — I start from the very beginning. Level 2 is designed as a continuation of Level 1, but you can still buy it standalone if you already have floorwork experience.
What happens right after I pay?
You're taken straight to the course and get instant access to every lesson. A confirmation email with your login link arrives within a minute. Any bonuses I add during your 4 months are included.
What's inside the bundles?
Floorwork Complete includes Level 1 + Level 2. All Courses includes all three programs — Level 1, Level 2, and Shoulder Stands — with full 4 months of access per course, at the deepest discount of the launch.
What's the difference between Floorwork Level 1 and Level 2?
Level 1 is where you build your base: body awareness, your first 13 signature tricks with 30+ variations, and your first combos. It takes you from zero to confident on the floor. Level 2 continues from there with 10 new intermediate to advanced tricks: scorpion and triangle shoulder stands, dolphin and boat jumps, crocodile, baby freeze, headstand and more. You need Level 1 first, or an existing solid floorwork base, before you start Level 2.
Can I get a refund?
Because access is granted the moment you pay, this purchase is non-refundable. If you have any questions before enrolling, DM me at @morella.dance on Instagram.
